Villa Haven preserves and nurtures this unique and historical occupation, inviting guests to enjoy a uniquely Maldivian experience. Toddy is a sweet ambrosia that contains beneficial properties such as zinc, iron, antioxidants and inulin, which Simple Sybarites are invited to taste amongst the palms only metres from where the sweet nectar is created. During this unmissable insight into a rich local tradition, the Toddy Tapper shares the importance of coconuts to island life and some hidden benefits, along with his tricks and expertise while picking them along the way.
SPELLBINDING SHOWS AND TALESAfter dinner, guests congregate casually around a fire pit on the beach to take part in Villa Haven’s serene evening ritual of cross-cultural and Holhuashi storytelling. Entertaining and uplifting, the series of traditional puppet performances dramatise historical events and Maldivian tales with engrossing themes and appealing humour. Team Members share enchanting myths, preserved throughout generations, while guests are encouraged to exchange stories from their own cultures and form new friendships. The evening is filled with snippets of childhood memories, global histories, native songs and philosophies, with traditional Maldivian toddy and snacks served throughout.
